How To Verify Personal Account on Bitcoin Store - Complete Guide

Get started with cryptocurrency trading on Bitcoin Store Wallet by verifying your account in just a few easy steps. This quick guide explains everything you need to know for a smooth, secure verification process.

To start trading cryptocurrencies on Bitcoin Store and make your first deposit, you’ll need to verify your personal account.

The verification process is straightforward, taking less than five minutes to complete, and is crucial for ensuring all users are registered in compliance with legal requirements.

Step 1: Create a Bitcoin Store Account

Create your account to start the verification process. You can do it either via website or through the Bitcoin Store Wallet app (available on Google Play or App Store).

*If you still haven’t created an account, you can follow our step-by-step guide on how to create an account on the Bitcoin Store and how to buy your first cryptocurrency.

*Make sure your password is strong and secure (at least 8 characters long, including a mix of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers and special characters). Don’t forget to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) if it’s not already set up.

Step 2: Start the Verification Process

How To Verify Account with Mobile App

*We recommend verifying your account using the Bitcoin Store Wallet app because it is easier and faster as you will directly take photos of your documents instead of uploading images from your computer.

*Note: The verification process can't be completed on computer if you don't have web camera (necessary for taking a selfie).

For mobile users, the Verify account button will appear right when you log in to your account (on the Get started list).

How To Verify Account via Desktop (Web)

If you log in via website, you’ll find two sections on the right side of your screen (as shown on the image below).

The verification process is almost identical to the one on the Bitcoin Store Wallet app, with a few small differences.

  • You can either hold your ID card or passport up to the webcam and take a photo directly or manually upload photos of your document.
  • However, a webcam is required to take a selfie (make sure to allow webcam access for the website).

Step 3: Verify Your Phone Number

First thing you will need to do is phone number verification. Type in your phone number of the phone you are using for the Bitcoin Store Wallet app.

Tap Send verification code and wait for an SMS message to verify the number.

If you don’t get the code, hit “send again” or send the code from another number.*

*If you decide to use a phone number that is not exclusively yours for verification, it will remain saved as the number associated with the Bitcoin Store account you created. After that, you can contact us via email at info@bitcoin-store.hr to change the phone number.

Once you get the 5-digit code, type it in the app and you should get the message Well done! (as shown in the image below). Tap Next to proceed with the verification process.

Step 4: Upload Your Identification Documents

For the next step, prepare an identification document - it can be an ID card or a passport.

Choose the country that issued you the document.

Ensure your document photos are taken in bright, clear lighting, with the entire document visible (not cropped or taken from too far away, so all details are readable).

You can either take a photo of the document directly in the app or upload it manually from your image gallery.

For a passport, it is enough to take one photo. As for the ID, you need to scan both the front and back side.

Step 5: Take a Selfie for Identity Confirmation

Once you are done with scanning the documents, you can continue onto the next step.

You will need to take a selfie - however, it is necessary to follow the instructions. Stand still, look directly in the selfie camera and roll your head in a circular motion clockwise until all lines “turn green”.

Important: Please take your selfie in well-lit conditions, without sunglasses, hats, or any other accessories that might obscure your face. Ensure no other people are in the frame.

When you take the selfie photo correctly, you should get a message “Thank you. We are currently verifying your information.”

Soon after, the verification process should be complete and you can tap the button Go to wallet.

Step 6: Wait for Verification Approval

Once you are done with the verification process inside the Bitcoin Store Wallet app, go check your email inbox (it should be email that is connected to your Bitcoin Store account).

There should be a confirmation email that says Verification Successful which means that your account is now completely verified and ready for trading!

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Here are some potential issues you may encounter during the verification process, along with solutions:

Rejected Documents

  • Cause: Low-quality images, incorrect document type, or missing sections of the document.
  • Solution: Ensure your documents are clear, well-lit, and fully visible. Double-check that the document type matches the requirement (passport, national ID, etc.).

Unclear Selfie

  • Cause: Poor lighting, facial obstructions (e.g., glasses or hats), or other people in the background.
  • Solution: Take your selfie in a bright setting with no accessories that cover your face, and make sure you are the only person in the photo.

Phone Number Verification Failure

  • Cause: Incorrect phone number format or incorrect phone number.
  • Solution: Enter the phone number in the correct format.

Delayed Verification Approval

  • Cause: High verification request volume or additional document checks.
  • Solution: Allow for some processing time and check your email for updates. Contact support if the delay exceeds the expected timeframe.
